Locks for Residential Life Buildings

The following Residential Life buildings are equipped with electronic locks:

  • University Commons: Exterior and Room Doors
  • Residential Commons 2: Convenience Store Only

These locks are managed by Residential Life. Access is based upon your housing assignment, and your campus ID will serve as your key to these locks.  If you're experiencing problems with these locks, please contact reslife@mst.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions

If action is required to purchase a new card, have your card re-encoded, or anything else, we will reach out to you through email prior to you arriving to your move in day.

First, report your card lost or stolen to the ID Office.

If you lose or damage your card during ID Office business hours, you'll need to visit the ID office to purchase a replacement card.

If you lose or damage your card outside of ID Office business hours, bring a photo ID to the front desk of the building you are assigned, and we'll issue you a temporary card.

Yes. The locks are on a battery backup system.
